Crowd funding for micro community projects

MalvernSoup is a new start-up Soup following in the tradition of Soups around the country  and inspired by Detroit Soup.

So what is MalvernSoup?  We are a Group of volunteers who will organise a Sunday lunch get-together four times a year somewhere in Malvern.  You’ll pay an entrance fee which will go to the winning project.

We are very grateful to Worcester Soup for their help and support with setting up MalvernSoup, and allowing us to plagiarise their Website (!).

In the meantime, we are interested in your ideas or projects which need funding.

How does it work?

  • £4 entry fee
  • 4 people present their projects
  • 4 minutes per presentation
  • 4 questions from the diners

Then we vote!  The winner of the popular vote receives all the takings from the door.

The winner returns to the next Soup with a short report back on how their project is going.

Entry fee:  This is so that we can raise money for local projects.  You’re welcome to donate more!

Presentation of projects:  No slide presentations!  Just stand up and talk about what your project is, what you are trying to achieve and what you need the money for.  This should be informal.  We can help and coach you if you’re terrified of speaking in public.

MalvernSoup is proud to join the Soup community which began in Detroit and has spread all over the world, bringing communities together and creating the opportunity for people to present their projects to a wider audience and get small amounts of funding to help them on their way.
